This artwork was created from an actual scene. I happened across this fellow, parked at a local public beach in a small southern California town called Cardiff By The Sea. He was sitting quietly, gazing at the ocean from the cockpit of his beautiful red Porsche 356 Speedster on a remarkably crisp, clear fall morning. He looked content.
Being a Porsche lover and owner myself, I had to ask him about the car. The gentleman indulged me with a great story; he'd worked all his life and recently finished putting his kids through school. Once that was done he bought this car. We talked a bit more about how much he enjoyed the Speedster and what a simple pleasure it was to own. After that his gaze drifted back to the ocean. I recognized the look in his eyes. He was living the dream.
