NOTABLE SALE: $3,305,000 — 2005 Porsche Carrera GT
The undisputed headline of February 2026 for standalone Porsche halo cars was this GT Silver Metallic 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with an astonishingly low 603 miles, which set a new auction record for the model at $3,305,000 at RM Sotheby's ModaMiami. One of only 644 US-market examples produced, this example was offered from the Drift Capital Collection and came equipped with factory XT bucket seats, air conditioning, and a Bose sound system. It received a comprehensive service totaling over $89,000 from Porsche Nashua in March 2025, and returned for a multi-point inspection in February 2026 ahead of the sale. Accompanied by factory books, a window sticker copy, service records, battery tender, car cover, wooden service ramps, and six pieces of factory luggage. The Carrera GT — Porsche's uncompromising V-10 analog masterpiece — shares no platform, no engine, and no lineage with the 911, making it the definitive example of what belongs in this section. No other standalone Porsche special (918 Spyder, 959, GT1) crossed the block in February 2026, making this result the month's sole entry for the category.
Sold on 02/27/26 at RM Sotheby's ModaMiami.
February was another exciting month in the Porsche market. We continue to see that originality, low mileage, and rare specifications command top dollar, but there are still great opportunities for enthusiasts to find driver-quality cars at reasonable prices. Thanks for reading, and we'll see you next month for the March market update!
