August 2026 Porsche Market Update
August is Monterey Car Week. RM, Broad Arrow, Gooding, and Mecum put the year’s best Porsches in front of the same collectors over a few days on the Peninsula, so the highs this month are Monterey highs, not BaT highs.
RM’s 959 Sport did $7,045,000 — a public-auction record, one of 29, ex-Heidfeld, ahead of the old Sport record at $5.505 million and the Paris-Dakar 959. The Komfort at the Quail sold for $2,865,000. Same badge, four million dollars apart: that was the week.
It was not a clean sweep. A 372-mile Carrera GT bid to $4,000,000 and sat unsold. Mecum still sold a 3,480-mile car for $3,575,000.
356 (1948-1965)
Aluminum America Roadsters still print seven figures at Monterey. Reutter coupes with rolled odos and cracked glass remain the way into a real 356.

Monterey paid Touring RS money for a late Silumin-block 2.7. BaT still had a TMU 911E Targa with a replacement 2.0 for seventy grand.

914 (1970-1976)
Mecum’s $99,000 1972 “914/6” was a GT tribute on a 914-4 chassis. It is not the High. The genuine six was a BaT 1970 914-6.

Nine 1989 Flachbau Targas exist; RM sold one with 8,019 miles and a G50. The bargain was a 161k 3.2 coupe with Carfax hits.

Street 924s were thin this month — one PCARMARKET Turbo. The high was a race car: Brumos/BF Goodrich’s 1982 Le Mans IMSA GTO-winning 924 Carrera GTR.

Broad Arrow’s ex-Jochen Mass Clubsport prototype did not make its estimate. BaT still had a 27-year-owned five-speed GT with Devek and Koni bits for $25,500.
